EndNote: EndNote Preferences

A guide to using EndNote X9

EndNote Preferences

Before you start working with EndNote, consider changing these preferences:

1. Display fields: You can choose which fields for information are displayed, and in what order. You can also re-label the column headings by typing an alternative into each Heading box. For example: Field= Record Number;: Heading= #

Click Display Fields at the left, then select the Label field from the drop-down list for the column you want to assign to the Label field. You can also rename the Headings of the columns or reorder the fields.

To customize EndNote, go to the Edit menu, select Preferences.

2. Find full text: Turn this function off! It will slow down your computer while importing large files. You can add full texts afterwards at selected references.

Go to Preferences and choose: 'Find Full Text'.
