What is EndNote?

EndNote is a multiplatform software tool that helps to manage the process of writing and preparing research papers.
It allows you to:

  • Import citations from literature databases (such as Web of Science or PubMed)
  • Organize references into groups
  • Add full-text documents to your references
  • Automatically insert well-formatted citations into Word
  • Automatically reformat citation style in one click

​EndNote is an excellent tool that helps you to organize the publications you have seen and read. You can annotate your references, add the full text, search them and share easily. But, moreover it leads to accurate citations. It enables you to work more efficiently and effectively and saves time.

How to get EndNote?

Tilburg University users:

  • For students, EndNote is installed on the student desktops on campus. For staff, EndNote is available in the Software Center. IT Support can help with the installation.
  • Students and employees can request a download link for the software for using EndNote at home, via IT Support.

 

* In addition to Endnote, there are many more reference managers available. Some of them can be downloaded for free, such as Mandeley, Connotea, or Zotero. Of course there are differences between the various programs. Overviews with comparisons can be found on the Internet. Tilburg University does not offer user support for other reference managers.
