Welcome
The university library welcomes you to InfoSkills, a tutorial intended for first-year and pre-master's students. The tutorial is designed to help you master basic information skills and get you started with using the library.
What are information skills and why do you need them? There are multiple definitions in use, but ultimately it’s about being able to recognize what information is needed (e.g., for a writing assignment), and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the needed information.
The InfoSkills tutorial is divided into five modules, each with its own set of learning objectives, along with a final test for students who must complete InfoSkills as part of their program.
We strongly recommend that you go through the tutorial chronologically since the different parts are connected and build on one another. Estimated time for the tutorial and the test to be completed is three to four hours.
InfoSkills will remain available as a reference resource throughout your study.
Tilburg University's library offers a variety of study places, a large collection of books & journals, and friendly staff to help you with your information needs.
It's a great place to collaborate, study, and work on your paper or thesis!
