The Tilburg University Code of Conduct offers a framework for reflecting on the university’s principles and core values: integrity, respect, expertise, and involvement. Research integrity is a crucial aspect of effective research practices and is vital for educating future researchers. Tilburg University supports the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (NGWI).

The e-learning module is designed to be completed at your own pace, with an estimated time commitment of up to 90 minutes. To finish the program, you must pass a test. This module is mandatory for PhD candidates who began their program in the 2020-2021 academic year or later; for those who started before, it is optional.

Upon completing the e-learning module, you will:

  • Understand key terminology
  • Recognize responsible versus questionable research practices and misconduct
  • Be familiar with relevant regulations
  • Be informed about Tilburg University’s policies and procedures
  • Know where to find additional resources
  • Understand whom to contact for support, advice, or in cases of suspected violations
