Wil je op de hoogte blijven van nieuwe publicaties over een onderwerp? Dan zijn er twee opties in WorldCat Discovery die je kunt gebruiken. Je kunt zoekopdrachten opslaan en deze op een later tijdstip opnieuw uitvoeren, en je kunt wekelijkse meldingen ontvangen van nieuwe publicaties die overeenkomen met jouw zoekopdracht. Dit is handig als je wilt weten of er iets nieuws over jouw onderwerp is gepubliceerd sinds je voor het laatst naar items hebt gezocht. Dit bericht laat zien hoe je deze opties kunt gebruiken.
Nadat je een zoekopdracht hebt uitgevoerd, klik je op de link Zoekactie bewaren in de rechterbovenhoek van de lijst met resultaten. De zoekopdracht wordt exact zo opgeslagen zoals je die hebt uitgevoerd, met eventuele geselecteerde filters zoals formaat of onderwerp. Je hebt de mogelijkheid om de naam van de zoekopdracht te wijzigen en een attendering te activeren (zie hieronder). De volgende keer dat je deze zoekopdracht wilt herhalen, kun je erop klikken vanaf de pagina met opgeslagen zoekopdrachten. De zoekopdracht wordt dan opnieuw uitgevoerd en geeft alle resultaten die op dat moment actueel zijn.
Nadat je een zoekopdracht hebt uitgevoerd, klik je op de link Attendering aanmaken in de rechterbovenhoek van de resultatenlijst. Vul het e-mailadres in waarop je de attendering wilt ontvangen. De zoekopdracht wordt opgeslagen in jouw opgeslagen zoekopdrachten (zie hierboven), waar je de attendering kunt uitschakelen als je dat wilt.
Attenderingen worden wekelijks gemaild. De e-mails bevatten links naar de resultaten en opties om de meldingen te beheren.
Tip: zorg ervoor dat je zoekopdracht specifiek genoeg is om goede resultaten te krijgen. Als de zoekopdracht te algemeen is, krijg je mogelijk te veel resultaten om bij te houden.
Attenderingen blijven actief gedurende 12 maanden, totdat je ze handmatig uitschakelt of totdat je de opgeslagen zoekopdracht uit je lijst verwijdert. Je ontvangt een e-mail over verlopen waarschuwingen met een optie om de melding opnieuw te activeren.
Open jouw opgeslagen zoekopdrachten via je account op het tabblad Zoekactiviteit > Opgeslagen zoekopdrachten. Klik op een opgeslagen zoekopdracht om de zoekopdracht opnieuw uit te voeren. Selecteer in de kolom Zoekmelding of je een attendering wilt maken voor een zoekopdracht of een bestaande attendering wilt deactiveren.
Do you want to stay informed of new publications about a topic? WorldCat Discovery has two options you can use for this. You can save searches and run these again at a later point in time, and you can receive weekly alerts of new publications matching your search. This is useful if you want to know if anything new has been published on your topic since you last searched for items. This post shows how to use these options.
After running a search, click the Save Search link on the top right-hand side of the results list. The search will be saved as-is, with any selected filters such as format or subject. You have the option to change the name of the search and activate an alert (see below). Next time you want to repeat this search you can click it from saved searches page. The search will run again and return all current results at that time.
After running a search, click the Create Alert link on the top right-hand side of the results list. Enter your email address where you want to receive the alerts. The search is saved in your saved searches (see above) where you can turn off the alert if you want to.
Alerts are mailed on a weekly basis. The emails contain links to the results and options to manage your alerts.
Tip: make sure your query is specific enough to get good results. If your search is too generic, you may end up with too many results to keep track of.
Alerts remain active for 12 months, until you manually turn them off, or until you remove the saved search from your list. You will receive an email about expired alerts with an option to reactivate the alert.
Access your saved searches via your account, in the Search activity > Saved searches tab. Click a saved search to run the search again. In the Search alert column, select to create an alert for a search or to deactivate an existing alert.
