Looking for a fun and interactive way to explore Open Science? Join us for the Open Science Game Nights - Halloween Edition! This informal gathering is designed for researchers, PhD candidates, and support staff to connect, share ideas, and dive into Open Science practices through games!
Open Science is often perceived as complex, serious, and yet another task on an already long to-do list. But it doesn’t have to be that way! The GHOST collective, a cross-institutional group of Open Science advocates, has taken a different approach - gamification - to make learning Open Science principles engaging and enjoyable.
For the past five years, various institutions have organized similar, game-based learning experiences during the Data Horror Week around Halloween and the Data Love Week around Valentine's Day.
Whether you’re an Open Science enthusiast or just starting to explore the topic, this meetup is for you.
An engaging talk (30-60 minutes) by an invited speaker on an Open Science topic.
An introduction to the GHOST card games, designed to make learning Open Science principles both fun and practical.
Hands-on playtime to play the games together.
Snacks and drinks to keep the conversations and ideas flowing (2 drink coupons included!).
All researchers and student assistants who are curious about Open Science.
Support staff who assist with or are interested in data management, reproducibility, and Open Science policies.
