De Open Science Community Tilburg, in samenwerking met de Universiteitsbibliotheek Tilburg, nodigt u uit voor een lunchbijeenkomst met de focus op de toekomst van Diamond Open Access publicaties en hoe de onderzoeksgemeenschap kan bijdragen aan de consolidatie ervan.
Diamond Open Access tijdschriften vertegenwoordigen een door de gemeenschap gedreven, academisch geleide en academisch eigendom initiatief voor publiceren, en worden gezien als de potentiële toekomst van wetenschappelijke publicaties, in lijn met Plan S. Echter, hun prevalentie blijft momenteel beperkt.
De sessie begint met een presentatie van Dr. Jan Willem Wijnen, een ervaren wetenschappelijke uitgever en projectmanager van Openjournals.nl, die Plan S en de rol van Diamond Open Access zal bespreken. Hierna zal een panelgesprek met Dr. Jan Willem Wijnen, Dr. Maria Mos en Prof. Dr. Ronald Leenes ingaan op de praktische implementatie van Diamond Open Access.
Dr. Maria Mos, universitair hoofddocent, is betrokken geweest bij het 'omzetten' van het Dutch Journal of Applied Linguistics naar Diamond Open Access, terwijl Prof. Dr. Ronald Leenes fungeert als hoofdredacteur van het Diamond Open Access Journal Technology & Regulation.
De panelleden zullen inzichten delen in de bijbehorende uitdagingen en kansen, putten uit hun ervaringen met het opstarten of overzetten van tijdschriften naar Diamond Open Access.
Dit evenement heeft tot doel praktische begeleiding te bieden en discussie te bevorderen over het bijdragen aan deze belangrijke overgang binnen het academische domein. Doe mee om een uitgebreid begrip van het huidige landschap te krijgen en op een zinvolle manier bij te dragen aan deze cruciale verschuiving in academische publicaties.
Er wordt een gratis lunch aangeboden en registratie is verplicht. Registreer u alstublieft voor de bijeenkomst om ons te helpen een juiste schatting te maken van de hoeveelheid om te bestellen. In verband met de capaciteit van de zaal is persoonlijke deelname beperkt tot 32 deelnemers. Inschrijvingen voor persoonlijke deelname worden beheerd op volgorde van inschrijving.

The Open Science Community Tilburg, in collaboration with the Tilburg University Library, invites you to a lunch meeting focusing on the future of Diamond Open Access publishing and how the research community can contribute to its consolidation.
Diamond Open Access journals represent a community-driven, academic-led, and academic-owned publishing initiative, and are seen as the potential future of scholarly publishing, aligning with Plan S. However, their prevalence remains limited at present.
The session will start with a presentation by Dr. Jan Willem Wijnen, a seasoned scientific publisher and project manager of Openjournals.nl, who will discuss Plan S and the role of Diamond Open Access. Following this, a panel session featuring Dr. Jan Willem Wijnen, Dr. Maria Mos, and Prof. Dr. Ronald Leenes will delve into the practical implementation of Diamond Open Access.
Dr. Maria Mos, an associate professor, has been involved in 'flipping' the Dutch Journal of Applied Linguistics to Diamond Open Access, while Prof. Dr. Ronald Leenes serves as the editor-in-chief of the Diamond Open Access Journal Technology & Regulation.
Panelists will share insights into the associated challenges and opportunities, drawing from their experiences initiating or transitioning journals to Diamond Open Access.
This event aims to provide practical guidance and foster discussion on contributing to this significant transition within the academic realm. Join us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape and contribute meaningfully to this crucial shift in academic publishing.
Free lunch will be provided and registration is mandatory. Please register for the meeting to help us ensure a correct estimate of the amount to order. Due to room capacity, attending in person is limited to 32 participants. Registrations for attending in person will be managed according to the order of registration.
