The Research Data Office (RDO) invites all researchers, PhD candidates, and research support staff at Tilburg University to attend two upcoming events. These online sessions are designed to help you manage your research data responsibly and ensure compliance with GDPR rules when handling personal data.

  • Monday February 17, 2025: Webinar: Handling Personal Data in Research (GDPR)

January 27, 2025: Online Training Introduction to Research Data Management (RDM)

Time: 10:00 - 12:15 AM
Location: Online (Zoom)

This training provides a solid introduction to Research Data Management (RDM). Whether you are dealing with personal data or need guidance on data storage, this session will give you the tools to get started.

What to expect:

  • How to handle (personal) data responsibly during your research
  • The main rules and regulations you need to be aware of
  • Best practices for storing data during and after your research
  • What support is available at Tilburg University for RDM

The session is organized by the RDO in collaboration with Pam Dupont, Central Privacy Officer at Tilburg University.

If you work with personal data in your research, this webinar is for you. Pam Dupont, Central Privacy Officer, will explain how to handle personal data carefully and in line with GDPR requirements.

What to expect:

  • The different types of personal data and how to handle them
  • Legal grounds for processing (special) personal data
  • When you need a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
  • How to inform participants clearly about data processing
  • Pseudonymization vs. anonymization
  • Tips to protect your data and avoid breaches

There will also be time at the end for a Q&A session to address your specific questions.
