Beatriz Lourenço Barrocas Neves Ferreira is our new LIS Research Support colleague. She introduces herself in this blog post.
As of May 1st, I am the Information Specialist for the TSHD. This is a new challenge I am looking forward to, not only as an opportunity to strengthen the existing relationship between the library and the researchers but also as a chance to learn from my colleagues on the Research Support Team! As Information Specialist, my role is to facilitate access to information by maximizing the library's resources, as well as to assist with issues related to scholarly communication. In short, I hope to be able to help with issues such as suggestions for acquisitions; searching for and organizing information; open-access publishing: or any library-related questions.
I am from Portugal and I studied Information Science at the University of Coimbra. Throughout my professional experience, I have been working in academic libraries, mostly on issues related to information literacy. However, it is in the movement of opening up research and scholarship that I find my passion! In my spare time, I like to go to the gym and go for walks in nature (although now that I'm in Tilburg, I've exchanged walks for bike rides!).
