De Library Access browser-extensie zorgt voor eenvoudiger toegang tot online boeken, tijdschriften en databases. De meest recente update introduceert twee nieuwe opties. Je kunt voortaan je eigen voorkeuren instellen. Bovendien is nieuwe functionaliteit van scite.ai beschikbaar, waarmee je citatiegegevens van artikelen kunt bekijken.
Het is nu mogelijk om verschillende instellingen van Library Access aan te passen naar je eigen voorkeur. Klik hiervoor op het icoontje van de extensie en ga via Settings naar Advanced Settings.
Wil je een bepaalde soort pop-ups niet meer zien? Vink dan de optie “Let me decide the types of messages I see” aan. Bij elke pop-up krijg je dan een mogelijkheid om dit soort pop-ups niet meer te zien. Let op: wees voorzichtig, je kunt hierdoor in de toekomst belangrijke pop-ups missen.
Scite.ai is een dienst die informatie over citaties toont wanneer je een artikel vindt. Hoe dit werkt kun je terugvinden in een eerdere blogpost. Deze functionaliteit staat vanaf 9 november standaard aan in Library Access. Vind je de informatie niet interessant? Zet deze dan uit via de Advanced Settings.
Scite.ai toont informatie op websites van uitgevers en in Google Scholar. Beide opties kun je apart aan- en uitzetten.
NB: Tilburg University heeft geen abonnement op scite.ai en biedt verder geen ondersteuning. We bieden deze optie in Library Access aan voor wie een eigen account heeft bij scite.ai.
The Library Access browser extension offers easy access to online books, journals, and databases. The most recent update introduces two new options. You can now set your own preferences. In addition, new functionality of scite.ai is available to view citation data of articles.
It is now possible to change several Library Access settings to suit your preferences. To do this, click on the icon of the extension and navigate to Settings and Advanced Settings.
Do you want to stop seeing certain types of pop-ups? Then check the option "Let me decide the types of messages I see". Each pop-up will then include an option to no longer see those types of pop-ups. Note: be careful, you may miss important pop-ups in the future.
Scite.ai is a service that displays information about scitations for articles you find. How this works can be found in a previous blog post. This functionality will be enabled by default in Library Access as of 9 November. Not interested in this information? You can turn it off via the Advanced Settings.
Scite.ai displays information on publishers' websites and in Google Scholar. Both options can be turned on and off separately.
