A-Z Databases List Help

Explains how to use the A-Z Databases List

Introduction

The A-Z Databases list contains all library databases available to you as a Tilburg University student or employee. This guide explains the basic use of the list and the meaning of the icons that are used.

To search:

  • Enter a database title or keyword and hit Search to find all matching databases.
  • Filter alphabetically by first letter of database title.
  • Filter the list by selecting one or more Subjects, Content types and/or Vendors. If you enter multiple subjects, the result will be databases that match any of these subjects ("OR"). If you enter both a subject and content type, the result will be databases that match both the subject and the content type ("AND").
  • Click the title to access and search the contents of the database.
  • Clear the filters when starting a new search.

The list shows all databases by default. Select a list by subject or collection from the Databases by Subject sidebar.

Each database entry shows:

  • the database title with a link to the database.
  • labels and icons show the associated subjects, access info and full text info.
  • the first couple of lines of a description of the database. The Show more button will show the entire description.
  • additional information (if available) and access modes.
