Placing a hold on a book

Sometimes the book you want is not available in the library. Why can this be so?

  1. The book may be stored in one of the library's depots [NL: magazijnen].
    Books from the depot have a CBM or CBC call number (e.g., CBM 742 E 38, CBC TFK B 12050).
  2. The book may be checked out.
    If a book is checked out, the status information will say 'Checked Out' and provide a due date.

In both cases, you need to place a request for hold. To do this,

  • click on the title of the book. This will take you to the full record (in WCD it's called 'detailed record');
  • use the 'Place hold' feature to place your request;
  • follow the instructions.
